Abstract

SHS investigation development is considered from the geographical and historical viewpoint. 3 stages are described. Within Stage 1 the work was carried out in the Department of the Institute of Chemical Physics in Chernogolovka where the scientific discovery had been made. At Stage 2 the interest to SHS arose in different cities and towns of the former USSR. Within Stage 3 SHS entered the international scene. Now SHS processes and products are being studied in more than 50 countries.

The chapter explores the historical development of environmental philosophies, emphasizing the anthropocentric perspective that has contributed to the current environmental crisis. It suggests a reevaluation of existing ethical frameworks and proposes a novel approach rooted in religious principles. The chapter discusses how to bridge the gap between religion and sustainability, offering insights for policymakers to make informed decisions for environmental planning and management. The chapter argues that, given the prevalence of diverse religious beliefs globally, understanding and incorporating religious perspectives is crucial for tackling contemporary environmental challenges.
