Abstract

SHS investigation development is considered from the geographical and historical viewpoint. 3 stages are described. Within Stage 1 the work was carried out in the Department of the Institute of Chemical Physics in Chernogolovka where the scientific discovery had been made. At Stage 2 the interest to SHS arose in different cities and towns of the former USSR. Within Stage 3 SHS entered the international scene. Now SHS processes and products are being studied in more than 50 countries.

Abstract

Coronavirus is a vast family of RNA viruses causing diseases from fever to severe illness and even death. Initially, it was called 2019 novel coronavirus (2019- nCoV) and labelled as Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARSCoV-2). The disease caused by coronavirus has been named coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Coronaviruses are widespread amongst birds, reptiles, cats, dogs, pigs, monkeys, rabbits, bats, and as well as in humans. SARS-CoV-2 is highly contagious and transmissible from human to human with an incubation period of up to 24 days, although the mortality rate seems to be significantly lower than SARS-CoV and MERS. Statistical data showed that on an average, an individual infected person can infect 5.7 cases.
