Abstract
This chapter explores the murky field of IVF ‘add-ons’ which are offered to
patients as a proposed technology to improve the overall success rate of IVF treatment.
The cost of these ‘add-ons’ can be very high. This is a very poor situation where some
fertility clinics are offering untested and unproven ‘treatments’ to their patients. The
regulatory authorities are slowly clamping down on this practice but at the time of
writing it was still a major problem in fertility clinics.
