Abstract

Takotsubo syndrome is characterized by a transient reversible left ventricular dysfunction. Takotsubo syndrome has been associated with different neurological conditions. The heart-to-mediastinum ratio of MIBG was decreased and acute washout rate was increased in the acute phase of Takotsubo syndrome extended abnormal findings of 123I-BMIPP. Such information by cardiac metabolism imaging can be used as an important tool for detecting myocardial injury and diagnosing disease. This article aims at providing an updated overview about diagnosis of Takotsubo syndrome by nuclear cardiology technique.
