Abstract

Applicability of HPLC based models for calculating partition coefficient (logP) of steroids was investigated. Retention time was used to calculate retention factor (logK), isocratic (CHIi) and gradient (CHIg) Chromatography Hydrophobicity Index. CHIi was shown to be an accurate logP predictor for selected steroids and as such offer an alternative to the shake flask method.
