The Signal Processing section of the journal Current Chinese Science publishes original research articles, letters, reviews/mini- reviews and guest edited thematic issues on various topics related to signal processing. 

This section is not limited to a specific aspect of the field but is instead devoted to a wide range of sub fields in the area. Articles of a multidisciplinary nature are particularly welcome. Dr. Theodoros A. Tsiftsis received the BSc degree in physics from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, in 1993, the MSc degree in digital systems engineering from the Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh, U.K in 1995, the MSc degree in decision sciences from the Athens University of Economics and Business, in 2000, and the PhD degree in electrical engineering from the University of Patras, Greece, in 2006. He is currently a Professor in the School of Intelligent Systems Science \& Engineering at Jinan University, Zhuhai, China, and also Honorary Professor at Shandong Jiaotong University, Jinan, China. His research interests fall into the broad areas of communication theory and wireless communications with emphasis on energy efficient communications, smart surfaces, ultra-reliable and low-latency communication, and physical layer security. He has served as a senior or Associate Editor in different international journals.

His research interests include machine learning in vision, image/video analysis and remote sensing image understanding. He has published more than 120 papers in these areas, and won several National Scientific and Technological Progress Awards. His research interests include Nanoelectronics (Fabrication of sensors, solar cells, etc. using nanomaterials), Nano-characterization (Electrical, structural, and optical characterizations), Nanomaterials (ZnO, TiO2, etc). Since 2017, He is currently an Associate Professor at the East China Normal University, Shanghai, China. Dr. Weixian Tan is currently a Professor at the College of Information Engineering, Inner Mongolia University of Technology. He received the Ph.D. degree from University of Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2009 and Excellence Award of President of Chinese Academy of Sciences. From 2009 to 2014, he was an associate researcher with the National Key Laboratory of Microwave Imaging Technology, Institute of Electronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Since 2015, he has been introduced to work in Inner Mongolia University of Technology and awarded Inner Mongolia Grassland Outstanding Talent. He has published more than 80 academic papers and more than 40 Chinese invention patents. He has won the First prize of Inner Mongolia Natural Science Award, First prize of Inner Mongolia Science and Technology Progress Award, and several Excellent Paper Prizes. His research interests include airborne/ spaceborne microwave imaging radar, 3D millimeter wave imaging radar, ground-based micro deformation monitoring radar, radar signal processing and microwave remote sensing. He serves as reviewer for more than 10 international journals.

He was awarded the State Candidate of Millions of Talents Project, Expert of Outstanding Contribution in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Inner Mongolia Grassland Outstanding Talent, Inner Mongolia Outstanding Youth of Natural Science, Young Science and Technology Talents of Inner Mongolia Colleges and Universities, etc. He has published more than 100 academic papers and more than 30 Chinese invention patents. He has won the First prize of Inner Mongolia Natural Science Award, First prize of Inner Mongolia Science and Technology Progress Award, Inner Mongolia May First Labor Medal and several Excellent Paper Prizes. Prof. Pingping Huang is the academic leader of Inner Mongolian Key Laboratory of Radar Technology and Application and the vice president of the College of Information Engineering of Inner Mongolia University of Technology. He is a committee member of Signal Processing Branch of Chinese Institute of Electronics (CIE), and a committee member of Graduate Student Education Branch of China Education Society of Electronics (CESE). His research interests include radar processing and remote sensing application technology related to ecological safety, production safety and defense safety. Dr. Yuan Zhang is currently an Associate Professor at the North China University of Technology, teaching the course "Digital Signal Processing" in English. He received his Ph.D. degree from Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics in 2017. From 2015 to 2016, he did a joint Ph.D. at the German Aerospace Center (DLR) and the Technical University of Munich (TUM). From 2008 to 2013, he worked as an assistant researcher at the Institute of Electronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He was awarded outstanding young backbone talents by the organization department of Beijing municipal committee of China. He presided over 1 National Natural Science Foundation project and 3 provincial projects, and published dozens of SCI and EI papers. His research area is radar signal and information processing.

Dr. Qiang Yin is an Associate Professor at the College of Information Science and Technology, Beijing University of Chemical Technology. She received the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in signal and information processing from Institute of Electronics, Chinese Academy of Science. From 2014 to 2015, she was a Research Fellow at the European Space Agency (ESA-ESRIN). She is also a Lecturer of the Advanced Land Remote Sensing International Training Course of ESA-MOST Dragon Cooperation. Since 2016 she is a Coordinator of IEEE GRSS in Asia and Pacific Region. Her research interests include radar image processing, classification based on polarimetric signatures, and quantitative parameter inversions.

Dr. Yun Lin is currently an Associate Professor at the North China University of Technology. She received her Ph.D. degree in Signal and Information Processing from the Univ. of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing, China, in 2011. From 2011 to 2018, she has been with the National Key Lab of Microwave Imaging Technology, Institute of Electronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, where she was in charge of the signal processing algorithm development and successfully processed the first airborne circular SAR image in China in the year of 2011. Since 2018, she has joined the School of Information Science and Technology, North China University of Technology, Beijing, China. Her current activities of research are focused on the topics of multi-aspect SAR imaging and its applications. She has published more than 40 scientific journal papers and obtained 20 authorized patents.

Dr. Firdous A. Shah obtained his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the Department of Mathematics at the University of Kashmir, and a Ph.D in Mathematics at the Central University, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, India. Currently, he is an Associate Professor of Mathematics at the University of Kashmir, India. Prior to his position at University of Kashmir, he was an Assistant Professor at BGSB University, Jammu as an Assistant Professor. He has authored/co-authored over 100 published scientific research papers. He has co-authored two books on Wavelet Transforms and Their Applications, Birkhauser, Springer in 2015 and 2017, respectively. He is also serving as an editorial board member of several mathematics and engineering journals, and reviewer of several international journals. He has undertaken several research projects and already 05 students completed their Ph.D research work under his guidance. His current research interests include the development of new time-frequency transforms, multi-scale wavelet analysis, applied harmonic analysis, Clifford Fourier transforms and the applications of wavelets to differential and integral equations, and mathematical biology.

Dr Marko Simeunović received the B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Montenegro, in 2008, 2009 and 2013, respectively. From 2008 to 2016 he was with the University of Montenegro covering positions of teaching/research assistant and ICT fellow researcher specialized for e-service engineering. In 2016 he was also involved in the first Center of Excellence in Montenegro. He joined the University of Donja Gorica in 2016 where he is currently holding the position of assistant professor. His courses are related to electrical engineering, programming, information systems and digital signal and image processing. He published more than 60 papers in international scientific journals and conferences, and participated in several FP7, H2020, bilateral and national research projects. Currently, he is a leader of two innovative projects funded by the Ministry of Science of Montenegro. Marko Simeunović is a reviewer in most world’s leading journals from the signal processing area. In 2013, Dr. Simeunović was awarded by the Montenegrin Academy of Sciences and Arts for outstanding scientific achievements. His research interests include time-frequency signal analysis, robust estimation, parametric and nonparametric estimation, statistical and array signal processing, genetic algorithm applications, radar signal processing and wireless sensor networks. He served as a senior engineer at the 38th institute, China Electronic Technology Group Corporation (CETC) from 2012 to 2016. He is the author of more than 30 journal papers. Eng. degrees in Applied Geophysics from Changchun College of Geology, Changchun, China, in 1989 and 1992, respectively, and received his PhD in Geoscience and Engineering from Tohoku University, Japan in 2002. He received secondary Sci&Tech progressive award from Ministry of Geological and Mineral Resource (MGMS) of China in 1995. He received young geologist award (golden hammer award) from the Chinese Society of Geology in 2003. He received secondary Sci & Tech progressive award from Liaoning province in 2008. He was awarded the excellent young scholar by Changchun municipal government in 2012. He has more than 100 publications in peer-referred journals, conference proceedings, and technical reports. His current research focuses on Engineering and Environmental Geophysics(EEG), Near Surface Geophysics(NSG), including ground penetrating radar (GPR), borehole radar (BR), electromagnetic logging (EM Logging).
