Electronic and Crystal Structures

Publishes original research articles, letters, case reports, reviews/mini-reviews and guest edited thematic issues on various topics related to Electronic and Crystal structures. This is a worldwide journal, accepting high-quality papers all over the world.

The Electronic and Crystal Structures section of the journal Current Chinese Science publishes original research articles, letters, reviews/mini-reviews and guest edited thematic issues on various topics related to electronic and crystal structures.

This section is not limited to a specific aspect of the field but is instead devoted to a wide range of sub fields in the area. Articles of interdisciplinary nature are particularly welcome. This section deals with the description of the quantum states of the electrons, the arrangement of electrons in an atom, ion, molecule and solid, the band structure and density of states of electrons in solid, the immigration and transportation of electrons in inorganic and organic compounds, and the sub-structure of high energy particles, as well as the ordered arrangement of atoms to form crystal lattice, sub-lattice, clusters, nano particles, small molecules, macromolecules, self-organized assemblies, and solid materials. This journal focuses on the electronic and crystal structures in emerging research fields like single-atom catalysts, energy materials, novel photoelectric functional materials, biomaterials, and macromolecular proteins, as well as the traditional materials such as metals, glasses, ceramics, and organic compounds with significant progresses on understanding long-distance structures, short-distance structures, local structures, dislocation, defects, surface and interface structures. Both experimental and theoretical studies on electronic and crystal structures, the approaches and instruments used to study electronic and crystal structures, and the applications of electronic and crystal structures used to design and prepare new materials and new devices are within the aim and scope of this journal. This journal focuses fundamental researches on electronic and crystal structures, aiming to promote the development of advanced mechanical, thermal, optical, electrical, magnetic, catalytic, and bio materials.

Dr. Lei Chen is professor at Hefei University of Technology. He received his Ph.D. from University of Science and Technology of China in 2007 with major in Nuclear Science and Applications. He was engaged in postdoctoral research at National Taiwan University in Taiwan and took visiting-professor at University of Alberta in Canada. His research interests focus on condensed-mater physics, solid- state inorganic chemistry, solid-state luminescence, crystal and electronic structures, synchrotron radiation technology and application, phosphors for light-emitting diodes (LED), and quantum dots display. He has published 65 peer-reviewed papers.

陈雷,合肥工业大学教授、博导。2007年6月于中国科学技术大学获得核科 学与技术专业博士学位,曾在台湾大学从事博士后研究、在加拿大阿尔伯特大 学从事国家公派访问学者研究。主要从事半导体照明与量子点显示研究,精通 发光材料与发光物理,掌握核心技术,拥有自主知识产权,具备在国际一流期 刊发表高水平论文的研究能力,已在 Materials Today、Advanced Science、Chemistry of Materials、Chemical Engineering Journal、Nano Energy等期刊发表SCI论文65篇,总被引用2045次(Google Scholar),单篇最高 引用439次,h指数20;申请发明专利23件、PCT专利4件、实用新型2件,获发明 专利授权8件。主持国家自然科学基金青年、面上与大科学装置联合基金项目, 以项目组副组长(总26人排名第二)与子课题负责人承担国家863计划1项,承担 安徽省科技攻关、安徽省重点研发计划、广东省协同创新等项目。研究论文分 别被ACS Combinatorl Science 和Luminescecne刊登为期刊封面,被 Luminescecne期刊选为Featured article,被Advanced Science期刊选为 Frontispiece。积极开展产学研合作、产业技术转移与成果转化,并取得良好 经济效果。以排名第一分别荣获2020中国轻工业联合会科技进步一等奖和2018 安徽省科技进步二等奖,以排名第六荣获2019广东省科技进步二等奖。

Dr. Hang Lin received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Fuzhou University, and PhD degree from FJIRSM, CAS, in the years of 2005, 2008, 2011, respectively. His research interest focuses on the oriented preparation of luminescent glass ceramic for opto-functional application, and aims to understand the fundamental issues of glass crystallization kinetics, controllable crystal growth of specific nanocrystals in glass, distribution of doping activators, and microstructure-property relationship in glass ceramic. He has published more than 60 articles in reputed journals.

His current research interests focus on the synthesis and characterizations of advanced energy functional nanomaterials for photocatalytic, electrochemical, and photoelectrochemical applications and the development of advanced in situ/operando synchrotron radiation experimental techniques and their applications in energy storage and reaction mechanisms.

Dr. Faheem K. Butt is currently working as an Associate Professor of Physics at Division of Science and Technology, University of Education Lahore. Before joining University of Education, he was an AvH Fellowship (Alexander von Humboldt Fellow) at Technical University Munich, Germany. It is pertinent to mention that it’s a prestigious fellowship and only won by 105 scientists/social scientists of Pakistan from 1955-2015. He was also associated with teaching at The University of Lahore. He completed his Postdoctoral Research Fellowship from Centre for Sustainable Nanomaterials (CSNano), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia in 2015. He completed his Ph.D. studies from Beijing Institute of Technology, China. His interest lies in Optoelectronics devices, Energy storage/conversion in nanomaterials and theoretical studies of materials using various softwares. He has published more than 110 research articles/book chapters as an author/co-author in peer reviewed international SCI journals with an h-index of 26 with ~2500 citations.

His main research includes crystallography, optoelectronic functional materials including laser materials, scintillators and phosphors for LD/LEDs. Within his group three lines of research can be distinguished: (1) Rare earth doped luminescent materials. This research focuses on the design of inorganic phosphors for white LEDs, especially for plant growth LEDs. (2) Semiconductor hetero- junction for photo-catalyst. (3) First principle calculation. His main achievements are—(A) semiconductors (polymers, monomers, organic compounds): (i) electrical, dielectrical, thermal and optical properties; (ii) electronic devices applications such as Schottky diode, P–N heterojunction diode, metal–insulator–semiconductor junctions, solar cells, photodiode, optical sensor; (iii) current injection in solids, (high-field conduction, spacecharge limited current, Poole-Frenkel and Schottky conductivity mechanisms). His current research interests include organic thin films, SAM-LB films, thin-film interfaces, and their application to electronic devices such as organic photovoltaics, OLEDs, OTFTs, nano-wires and sensors. Dr. Chunru Wang is a Professor at ICCAS. He received his PhD degree in Physical Chemistry from Dalian Institute of Chemistry Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1992. His research interests include fullerenes and endohedral fullerenes, mainly focusing on their industrialization and applications. He discovered the metal carbide fullerenes for the first time, researched on high-efficiency MRI contrast agents and developed a novel tumour vascular-targeting therapy technique using gadofullerenes. He has collected a couple of prizes and awards, such as the “CAS hundred Talents”, “National Distinguished Scholars in the New Century” etc. He is the author of more than 240 papers published in international refereed journals, 6 book chapters, and co-edited 1 book which was published by World Scientific Press.

Currently, he is an Associate Professor of Physical Chemistry at Cairo University. His main research deals with the fabrication of hybrid nanomaterials for water treatment and energy conversions. Dr. Song's research interest includes nano material synthesis: experienced in design and synthesis of novel energy materials/catalysts including porous nanoparticles, metal nanowires, hollow nanoparticles, MOF particles, polyhedral metal nanoparticles, polymer-metal core-shell hybrid nanoparticles (polymer self-assembly and polymer coating), polymer nano membrane and semiconductors. He is an expert on environmental TEM for directly probing dynamic liquid-solid reaction in situ (liquid phase TEM) at the atomic level & 3D electron tomography in nanoscale as well as in atomic resolution.

She has published more than 50 peer-reviewed papers in well-reputed international journals and also has presented her work in several conferences. Dr El-Salamony is also a reviewer and an editorial board member of some well-known international journals.

Dr. Rizwan Ur Rehman Sagar completed his MSc (2005–2008) degree in Physics from University of Sargodha, Pakistan, MPhil (2008–2010) degree in Physics from COMSATS University Pakistan, PhD (2010–2015) degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. He has served as Postdoctoral fellow (2016-2018) at the College of Materials Science and Engineering, Shenzhen University. During that period, he was awarded research funding from the Postdoctoral Science Foundation of China . In addition, he has been selected as an excellent postdoc (2018-2020) from Tsinghua Shenzhen International Graduate School, Shenzhen, China and obtained prestigious research funding from the National Natural Science Foundation (11850410427). Currently, he is serving at the Jiangxi University of Science and Technology, Ganzhou, as an Associate Professor China. He is actively engaged in the fabrication of low-dimensional carbon-based materials and detected interesting physical phenomena involved therein. He has published more than 40 scientific articles in well-reputed journals such as CARBON, Nano Research, ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces, Nanoscale, Applied Materials Today, Sensors and Actuators: A-B, and so on.

Currently, her research is focused on platinum, zinc and copper complexes. Dr. Tanja V. Soldatović is author and coauthor of more than 35 peer reviewed articles and three books. She participated in the realization of national scientific research projects and international DAAD projects. She was a research fellow at University of Sassari, Department of Chemistry, Sassari-Italy and University of Erlangen-Nürnberg, Inorganic Chemistry, Department of Chemistry and Pharmacy, Erlangen-Germany. Dr. Tanja V. Soldatović is member of professional societies: Serbian Chemical Society, Association for Cancer Research (Serbia) and The European Association of Cancer Research. Currently she is head of the Department of Chemical-Technological Sciences at the State University of Novi Pazar.
