Background: N, N-dimethyl-β-ketoenamines have proven to be of biological interest and provide an access to new class of biologically active heterocyclic compounds for biomedical applications.
Objective: It is substantial and very helpful for the scientific researchers,interested in the chemistry of enaminones to collect all methods for the preparation of different types of enaminones in one review.
Conclusion: This review provides an up to date information about the recent progress in synthetic approaches to N, N-dimethyl-β-ketoenamines, mainly using N, N-dimethylformamide dimethylacetal (DMF-DMA) as an efficient β-(dimethylamino)methylenating agent. The bibliography includes 166 references which have been published during the period from 1998 to the mid of 2017.
