Abstract

Background: Based on the development of selective laser melting technology, the machining of porous structures has become more delicate than conventional machining methods and has great advantages in manufacturing in many fields.

Objective: Types, properties, and design methods of porous structures are described, along with the application areas of porous structures. The influence of SLM process parameters on the molding of porous structures is also described.

Methods: Journals on porous structures are cited and used to demonstrate the excellent properties, application areas, and molding processes of porous structures.

Results: Porous structures formed based on selective laser melting have excellent properties and are used in a wide range of applications, such as medical phytomers and aerospace.

Conclusion: With the combination of selective laser melting technology and porous structure design methods, porous structures are better developed and applied to many fields.

Keywords: Selective laser melting, dot matrix structure, porous structures, three-cycle minimal surface method, topology optimization, medical implants.
